For the Bauhaus 100th anniversary, Serena Confalonieri presents an installation inspired by two important, though less well known, disciplines developed in the German school.
The first refers to the dance, in particular to the Triadisches Ballet (Triadic Ballet) invented and developed by Oskar Schlemmer in the 1920s, a three-part work punctuated by three colors (yellow, pink and black) and defined by three geometric shapes (circle, triangle and square). The volumes of the costumes stand out, inspired by the shapes of the Bauhaus and deliberately very bulky, so as to limit the movements of the dancers themselves and create a new style, characterized by a formal elegance even in the movements.
Arabesque is a collection of vases in borosilicate glass that takes its name from one of the most famous figures of the ballet, in which one leg is ‘en air’ backwards and the arms are stretched in opposite directions: a geometrically clean position, reproducible with a few lines.
The shapes of these vases refer to the costumes of the Triadic Ballet, in its volumes and colors.

Per i cento anni del Bauhaus, Serena Confalonieri presenta un’installazione ispirata a due importanti, seppur meno note, discipline sviluppate nella scuola tedesca.
La prima fa riferimento alla danza, in particolare al Triadisches Ballet (Balletto Triadico) inventato e sviluppato da Oskar Schlemmer negli anni ’20, un’opera in tre parti scandita da tre colori (giallo, rosa e nero) e definita da tre forme geometriche elementari (cerchio, triangolo e quadrato). Spiccano i volumi dei costumi, ispirati alle forme del Bauhaus e volutamente molto ingombranti, in modo da limitare i movimenti dei ballerini stessi e creare uno stile inedito, caratterizzato da una pulizia formale anche nei movimenti.
All’interno dell’allestimento viene presentata la collezione di vasi in vetro borosilicato Arabesque. Il nome viene da una tra le più note figure del balletto, in cui una gamba è en air all’indietro e le braccia sono distese in direzioni opposte: una posizione geometricamente pulita, riproducibile con poche linee.
Le forme di questi vasi fanno riferimento ai costumi del Balletto Triadico, nelle forme e nei colori.
